The administration is chipping away at LGBTQ people’s rights

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) people already experience greater barriers to accessing health care than non-LGBTQ people. Yet the Trump-Pence administration is repeatedly attacking LGBT people’s rights, from putting barriers in the way of access to health care to nominating judges and officials with strong anti-LGBTQ records.

Already, 33% of transgender people report being mistreated while getting health care, and 29% have been refused care.

Attacks on LGBT people’s rights harm the more than 10 million Americans who identify as LGBT as well as their friends and families.

The administration’s efforts could cause many LGBTQ people to lose access to care — including those who are low income, living with chronic illness, or have pre-existing conditions, like HIV.
