Who is Randy Pate?
At the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Pate leads the office that oversees the Affordable Care Act (ACA). He has the power to write ACA Marketplace rules that restrict access to birth control and reproductive care — as well as the power NOT to enforce access and affordability protections for these services.
Pate works for CMS Administrator Seema Verma, who said she plans to restrict access to reproductive health care under Medicare and Medicaid.
